Feast of Saint Luke
Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 14 The Celebration of Vigils on Feasts of Saints
Mass: 2 Tm 4:10b-17; Resp Ps 45; Lk 10:1-9

The Lord stood by me and gave me strength.
As Jesus spoke to Paul, Luke, and Mark, he also speaks to us in the Gospel Acclamation: 'I chose you from the world, to go and bear fruit that will last.' He sends us out as friends and laborers to make known the glorious splendor of His Kingdom. A question came to mind at Mass: Can I do it with no money bag, no sack, no sandals; greeting no one along the way? The Lord is with us; He 'is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.'
Lord God, who chose Saint Luketo reveal by his preaching and writingsthe mystery of your love for the poor, grant that those who already glory in your namemay persevere as one heart and one souland that all nations may merit to see your salvation.Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,who lives and reigns with you in the unityof the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.(Collect, Mass)
The road of the disciple is one of poverty. Disciples are poor because their richness is Jesus.(Pope Francis, Twitter, October 18, 2018)
