Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

First Saturday of the Month

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 7:44-48
Mass: Ml 3:1-4; Resp Ps 24; Heb 2:14-18; Lk 2:22-40

He took him into his arms and blessed God.

WHO IS THIS KING OF GLORY? IT IS THE LORD!
(Resp Ps 24)

May we join Simeon and bless the Lord

Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all peoples: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory for your people Israel.
(Lk 2:29-32)

You too have received God's mercy; indeed you have received it more abundantly. Take care lest you make grace fruitless through ingratitude. Let your devotion then be full of joy. Glorify and carry in your body everyday the One whom Simeon carried today.
(Guerric of Igny)

THE CHILD GREW AND BECAME STRONG, FILLED WITH WISDOM; AND THE FAVOR OF GOD WAS UPON HIM.

NB. Today's photo, Simeon in the Temple, Peter Paul Rubens (1612).
