All you beasts, wild and tame, bless the Lord; praise and exult him above all forever.(Da 3:81)
Scenes as shown in today's photo appear regularly on our property at Redwoods. This one was taken last night after our last communal prayer of the day, called Compline or Night Prayer. A fitting response to such displays comes from Psalm 51 used in today's celebration of the Eucharist.
O LORD, OPEN MY LIPS,AND MY MOUTH WILL DECLARE YOUR PRAISE.
Just as happens when we fall in love with someone, whenever St Francis would gaze at the sun, the moon or the smallest of animals, he burst into song drawing all creatures into his praise.(Pope Francis, Laudato Si, 11)
