My soul yearns for you in the night, yes, my spirit within me keeps vigil for you.
The words from the Prophet Isaiah bring to mind a favorite verse from the Song of Songs: I was sleeping, but my heart kept vigil; I heard my lover knocking (Sg 5:2).

Not only has this God we desire already found us, thus causing our desire, but God has never not found us. As Creator, God is the ground of who we are.(Martin Laird)
