Thursday of the Thirty-First Week in Ordinary Time
Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 31:13-19
Mass: Ph 3:3-8a; Resp Ps 105; Lk 15:1-10

Let hearts rejoice who search for the Lord.
Envision if you will the scene of today's Gospel. We have the tax collectors and sinners drawing near to listen to Jesus. At the same time, we have the Pharisees and scribes beginning to complain. Maybe you have witnessed a similar scenario at home, at the office, in the parish, or in your community. It seems to me the best choice is draw near to the Lord and listen, without complaining or murmuring. It sure takes a lot less energy. Living and true God, help us to search for you with joy, bearing witness to the LOVE and MERCY you bestow upon us.

Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.(Gospel Acclamation, Mass)
